For those still digging the photography basis or for those that want to jump to the next level, this is an excellent way to get an insight about this fascinating activity.

LISBON PHOTO is managed by MIGUEL HELFRICH, a local professional photographer for more than two decades.
You will get exceptional results applying two basic rules, “keep it simple” and “less is more”. We will do that together.

All types of cameras are welcome –  DSLR, Hybrid, Compact including Smart Phones, either way you will learn a lot.

This photography workshop can be flexible to accommodate different levels of experience and will take place in the streets of Lisbon.

The street action and weather will define the day. We will need to adapt, which makes a street workshop the best way to learn photography.
Make sure you have a notebook with you.

THEORY

• Camera as a dark room
• Explore your camera (body, lenses & menus)
• Exposure triangle (f-stop, time, ISO)
• White Balance
• Types of files (raw vs jpg)
• Camera modes – P/S/A/M
• Histogram (how to read)
• Exposure (neutral/over/under)
• Image composition – important!
• Color/Black & white photography

PRACTICE
We will spend the day exploring some of the old districts, like Alfama, Mouraria, Castelo, Ribeira, Bica, Cais do Sodré.
They all have moments of action and serenity, so we will be able to put our hands into practice, shooting, analysing, then correcting.
As said before, image composition makes half of the picture, we will practice that all the time.
